Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit organization of volunteers who are voices for abused children in court. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in protective care.
The Special Events Manager is responsible for all aspects of Dallas CASA’s fundraising events such as the Champion of Children Award Dinner, Parade of Playhouses and the Cherish the Children Luncheon, including planning, logistics and budget oversight, as well as working with volunteers and soliciting sponsorships. The Manager will be responsible for all activities of the Children’s Council, Dallas CASA’s auxiliary volunteer organization, including the annual membership drive, the holiday drive and yearly activities. In addition, the Manager will plan and implement events designed to cultivate and steward donors as well as support the forthcoming capital campaign.
Qualifications: This position requires professionalism, event, fundraising, marketing or sales experience and excellent computer skills, including fundraising software experience. S/he must have exceptional administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills and must be able to handle confidential information in a professional manner. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as is superior attention to detail. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and 5+ years of development experience in a nonprofit environment are strongly preferred.
